Sarah-Rose Williams is ID’s New York-based Policy Advisor. She works to provide strategic advice to partners to achieve meaningful engagement within the multilateral system. She is currently focused on working with Pacific Island countries on cyberdiplomacy negotiations and also works with partners to advance their interests within peace processes in the UN Security Council.

Sarah-Rose came to ID after eight years at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She worked across a broad range of issues with a focus on bilateral relationships in the North and South-East Asia regions, alongside multilateral work within the UN. During her time with the Government of New Zealand, she spent time based in China, Indonesia, and as a negotiator to the UN in New York.

Sarah-Rose holds a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University and undergraduate degrees in Politics and Laws from Otago University. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
