Shatha is a UN Representative at Independent Diplomat, where she primarily supports the Syria team. Prior to joining ID in September 2015, Shatha was a research intern at the Harvard Kennedy School Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, assessing developments in the MENA region as part of Graham Allison’s team. While completing her studies at Harvard, Shatha served as a research assistant on various research projects on public policy, international mass movements, and political psychology. Shatha has previously worked at Al-Haq, a human rights NGO based in the West Bank, as well as the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute. Shatha holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University – with a focus on international relations and comparative politics – and she has completed graduate courses on foreign policy and diplomacy at the Kennedy School of Government.
